Exchange and development of best practice in the field of sustainable and efficient energy management at public institutions - as part of the city partnership between Berlin and Buenos Aires
The aim of the project was to increase energy efficiency and energy savings in public educational institutions and reduceCO2 emissions. In addition, environmental and energy education, climate protection and energy awareness as well as global learning were to be promoted in schools in both partner cities.
Project activities:
- Supporting the city of Buenos Aires in creating transparency with regard to energy consumption in public facilities on the basis of the data already collected.
- Capacity building of operational staff on typical energy efficiency measures in schools and their prioritization as well as user involvement in Buenos Aires
- Support for the establishment of an exchange network for energy officers of educational institutions in Buenos Aires, analogous to the working groups of energy officers in Berlin
- Development and implementation of educational measures for pupils, teachers and company staff in both cities
- Design and equipment of an energy laboratory in a school in La Boca, Buenos Aires, as a place to gain experience and strengthen teaching and learning processes
