Detection and management of invasive neophytes on agricultural land to safeguard agricultural production conditions

The spread of invasive neophytes is increasingly threatening the productivity of agricultural land. The aim of the project was therefore to create an improved basis for the effective control of invasive neophytes on agricultural land. To this end, methods and algorithms for the detection of 9 selected, agriculturally relevant, invasive neophytes were developed and tested using remote sensing. At the same time, integrated procedures for regulating these species were developed, tested and finally summarized in recommendations for action. The project’s internal website www.neophyten-in-der-landwirtschaft.de presents project content, summarizes information on the species studied and makes the project results available. On May 3, 2022, the report on the results of the project was published as issue 220 of the reports from the Julius Kühn Institute.
