Learning packages on climate and environmental protection for “Global Ideas”, a Deutsche Welle reportage project

“Global Ideas” is a multimedia reportage project by Deutsche Welle (DW) on the topics of climate and environmental protection and biodiversity conservation. With funding from the International Climate Initiative (IKI) of the German Federal Environment Ministry (BMUB), DW has been producing TV reports, background reports, web specials and much more since 2009 to inform people all over the world about exemplary conservation projects. For the new project phase from 2017 to 2022, DW is aiming to expand its educational work. Attractive learning packages are to be developed around selected key topics in the field of climate and environmental protection. The offer is aimed at pupils worldwide, is available in several languages and can be used free of charge by teachers and educational institutions. In consultation with Deutsche Welle’s “Global Ideas” editorial team, UfU will be developing a concept over the next few years for various climate and environmental protection topics to define the objectives and target group, the approach, scope and structure of the learning packages and possible dissemination channels in the form of access to educational institutions and networks. A first learning package on the topic of “plastics” has already been created and is available at: http://www.dw.com/de/themen/global-ideas/s-30494
