KLAK - KLimaAktionsKino

The three-year project “KLAK – KlimaAktionsKino”, which UfU is carrying out in cooperation with Solare Zukunft e.V. from Freiburg, has been running since May 2016. Eleven short climate films have been created from a screenplay ideas competition, which were produced by young people in cooperation with professionals from the film and media industry (Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf, Climate Communication Lab and filmArche e.V.). A bicycle cinema tour in 2018 – with 16 tour stops nationwide – is the highlight of the project.

On the tour, we meet many inspiring, active people who show us how we can live more sustainably and, above all, more beautifully. The documentary series KLAK TRIFFT on YouTube tells the story. A bicycle cinema will be installed in four selected youth hostels for six months and integrated into their offerings. The project offers a platform for bicycle cinema initiatives and aims to promote exchange. The project will conclude with a bicycle cinema symposium. The aim is to raise awareness of climate protection in a practical way by using bicycles with generators to produce the energy required for the cinema. Part of the film program are eleven short climate films, which were created from a screenplay ideas competition for young people. The eleven film ideas focus on climate change and show solutions. The short films will also be made freely available after the project by the project partners. The bicycle cinema initiatives in Germany are networking, and the website offers a platform for information and exchange. The project is funded by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety as part of the National Climate Initiative (NKI).
