The current release of the Global Stocktake synthesis report has once again highlighted major gaps between the ambitions set in the Paris Agreement and the current level of climate action. Both the intended policies as described in countries’ NDCs and the implementation thereof are not sufficient to meet the goal of keeping global warming well below 1.5 degrees. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Two important factors in raising climate ambition is a coherent implementation of the NDC from the national to the local level as well as a meaningful participation of civil society. Based on ten studies conducted by local research teams in Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, Moldova and Kazakhstan, this event presents major barriers to these processes and fosters discussion of how to overcome them. <\/p>\n
