Anchoring renewable energies in teacher training!<\/h2>\n

[\/vc_custom_heading][vc_column_text]Together with its partners Solare Zukunft and Ecologic Institute, UfU researched various ways of permanently integrating renewable energies and other energy topics into teacher training as part of the project \u201cAnchoring renewable energies in teacher training!\u201d (2011-2014) funded by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, UU and its partners Solare Zukunft and Ecologic Institute researched various ways of permanently integrating renewable energies and other energy transition topics into teacher training. The focus was on the second phase of teacher training, the traineeship. By qualifying those involved in the teaching and learning process for energy issues of the future, the aim was to bring about changes in the curriculum and teaching practice.<\/p>\n

In the research project, prospective teachers were sensitized to sustainability issues in seminars and encouraged to bring them to their schools and into the classroom. To this end, new training concepts were developed for eight sub-topics relating to the energy transition. The concepts are based on the principles of Education for Sustainable Development(ESD<\/a>) and provided numerous suggestions for action-oriented teaching. In April 2013, Teacher Training EE was officially recognized by the UNESCO Commission as a project of the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development. The project was funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWI) as part of the \u201cCross-sectional Research EE\u201d, funding code: 0325325. Teacher training courses lasting one or more days on the 8 topics relating to the energy transition can be booked via Dr. Dino Laufer. However, as the project funding has expired, these cannot be offered free of charge.
