E-Justice Portal - Regulation and practice of access to justice in environmental matters

The aim of the project is to provide the European Commission’s planned e-justice portal with a revision and expansion of citizen-friendly and practically usable information on access to justice in environmental law in all 27 member states, in the case of UfU on the legal situation in Germany.

This includes the following contents:

  • Overview of the legal system, the status of environmental legal protection and the procedural possibilities of citizens and environmental associations in the national legal system
  • Overview of the position and tasks of the courts and the administration in the area of environmental legal protection
  • Overview of environmental administrative procedures and legal protection options within the administrative procedure
  • In-depth information on environmental litigation, standing, time limits, costs, legal aid, pro bono legal advice, the law of evidence, the use of expert opinions, the role and rights of non-governmental organizations,
  • In-depth information on special regulations in sectoral environmental law (EIA, Industrial Emissions Directive, SEA, Environmental Damage Act, cross-border procedures, etc.)
