H2O knowledge

In this project, the database “H2O-Wissen – Unterrichts- und Bildungsmaterialien Gewässerschutz”, first published in 2003, was revised and updated. It has been available as a CD-ROM from the Federal Environment Agency since July 2008, but can also be consulted directly via the Federal Environment Agency’s homepage (directly: www.h2o-wissen.de). In addition, quality criteria for educational materials on water were developed as part of this project and applied to selected materials. This project supported the numerous educational activities that are being carried out at many schools and extracurricular places of learning in Germany as part of the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development’s “Water” theme year. The database provides a quick and comprehensive overview of current teaching and educational materials on water protection. It is aimed equally at multipliers in school and extracurricular education.
