We cordially invite you to the Online Stammtisch of the Landesverband für Energieeffizienz (LFE):
Climate-neutral school buildings in new construction and renovation
Non-residential buildings, which include schools, “make up only around one seventh of the total stock, but their share of the final energy consumption of all buildings is more than one third.” (dena) It is high time to think about new construction and refurbishment of school buildings and climate neutrality together!
This has already been initiated in the Ecornet research network. Ecornet Berlin is a unique association of five institutes that conduct transdisciplinary research for a social and ecological metropolis Berlin. In the project “Heat transition in public non-residential buildings”, the background and correlations of climate protection targets and school refurbishments in Berlin (school construction offensive) were prepared. Marlies Bock, Deputy Head of the “Energy Efficiency and Energy Transition” department, will present some of the contents of the project background paper during the regulars’ table.
In addition, the regulars’ table offers space for exchange and discussion. Particularly interesting for planning staff from administrations and energy consultants for non-residential buildings. A typical school building is used as an example to show which measures can be used to achieve the efficiency house standards in new builds and refurbishments, for example.
