Technical-scientific evaluation of electric mobility measures - electric vehicle system
The German government’s National Electromobility Development Plan (NEP) aims to set the course for the electrification of the powertrain and sustainable mobility. With this in mind, several federal ministries have developed 15 funding measures for electromobility and implemented them with funds from the second economic stimulus package. In order to review the effectiveness of the measures, UfU was commissioned in conjunction with VKPartner GmbH to evaluate the funding measures for the electric vehicle system. As a result of the evaluation, it can be stated that the funded measures had an economic impact and that a great deal of technical and scientific knowledge was gained on the electric vehicle system. There was a high level of knowledge generation and an accelerated transfer of knowledge and technology between science and industry. The technologies developed in the context of the project are considered to have a good chance of being taken up and further developed into products and services. The funding has enabled Germany to build on its strengths in the areas of vehicle construction, power electronics and system integration and to reduce the gap to the world leaders in battery technology. Based on the evaluation results, the ministries can make any necessary course corrections and plan the future focus of electromobility funding in Germany.
